Light Luxury and Elegance

Reception Centre

Inspired by conservative luxury, the curved and straight lines with the different materials bring out the light luxury and elegant spatial atmosphere.

This is a commercial space project for a constructor’s sales reception center, designed by Jia-Ru Chen. The original base contained irregular shapes with sharp corners, setting it apart from other reception centers. To address this spatial limitation and the client’s Feng Shui concerns, the design primarily utilizes curved surfaces to showcase the sharp corners, effectively solving the criteria limitation while maintaining the simplicity and elegance of the entire space.

The entrance features a large area of interlocked wavy bronze gold wall, complemented by an arc-shaped copper gradated device at the lower part, enhancing the majestic manner. The reception counter area uses white spray-paint and dignified wood patterns, along with a dark grey carpet as the base colors. Graceful stone materials and the luster of titanium-plated panels add a touch of luxury and elegance to the space.

With a total area of 433 square meters, the reception center offers more than just a counter. It includes several semi-independent discussion areas, allowing uninterrupted discussions and spatial experiences. Prototype displays are also incorporated, providing a wonderful visual feast for visitors.

The columns in the space form a display-type area with a semi-hollowed style, cleverly combining support and object display functions. The corridor features a black classic sofa and tea table, creating an elegant resting space with a wooden facade.

One of the design challenges was the partitioned discussion area on the right side of the circulation. It uses matte glasses and wooden frames with iron pieces to achieve the separation function. This area not only facilitates discussions but also showcases the constructor’s control over the space, emphasizing the attention to detail and techniques. The rear part of the space features a dark-colored wooden floor, wooden facade, and exquisite lighting design, creating a dainty resting venue that subverts the rugged texture of spaces with temporary usage.

The Light Luxury and Elegance reception center project was completed in November 2017 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. It is a testament to the designer's ability to overcome spatial limitations and create a space that exudes luxury, elegance, and functionality.

This design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. The award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. It is respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, providing fulfillment and positive feelings while contributing to a better world.
